"The Kite Eater" background story, from the author:
"Another one of my tree paintings! When I was a kid, growing up in India, I had one thing in common with Charlie Brown: my kite would never fly! I was obsessed with flying kites! Money was tight, so, I would even make kites out of plastic bags and straws from the sweeping brooms. I would stand on the roof of our home for hours (sometimes breaking roof tiles), and try flying my kites. Our house was surrounded by other taller houses, so, there was barely any wind to lift my kites. And every now and then, my kite would soar, only to be caught in one of the few trees in the neighborhood (if it made it past electric & telephone poles and cables!). But, that never stopped me from trying..."
