Brooklyn is a black spayed female Pit Bull about 10 months old and weighing about 40 pounds. And boy, is she pretty! Brooklyn's foster parents have 2 pitbulls already (one male and one female), both work full-time and now have a baby on the way. They want her to get the most attention she can and feel that this may be too overwhelming. Brooklyn was rescued off the side of the road, almost getting hit by cars. She was obviously dehydrated and hungry as you could see her little bones. Her fosters took her in, bathed her, brought her to the vet and nursed her back to health. At the time she was approx. 6 months old. Brooklyn is now current on all vaccines and healthy. Brooklyn is high energy, playful, loves her toys, friendly, loves walks and playing in water on a hot summer day. She will find your underwear or your slippers if you leave them on the floor, though! All in all, she is a text book case of a puppy. She would like daily walks or playtime in the backyard and many toys and bones to chew on. She does occasionally snore, but what Pit Bull doesn't?! She know how to sit before she gets her food and treats, but could always be brushed up on her manners. She currently is trained not to jump on the couch or the bed, unless she is invited. She currently plays fairly well with the other 2 pitbulls in the house, but if you have another female dog, you should monitor closely. Brooklyn is kennel trained. She has made that her little home and spends her time in there while her fosters are at work. She is fed in the morning and at night and currently is eating dog food - Chicken Soup for the Puppy Lover&#146s Soul. At night, she sleeps with the big dogs by the side of the bed. If she is being rowdy, she will sleep in her kennel &#150 which helps with any anxiety. She gets out on walks and playtime, but definitely needs more. Brooklyn has been semi-trained using techniques from Ceasar, The Dog Whisperer. This has worked well with any dominance and anxiety issues. Brooklyn is potty-trained, minus a couple accidents here and there. Her fosters do believe in proper training and are requesting that her new parents keep up with that. There will be a $100 adoption fee for vet expenses, food, and to ensure a good home. Local inquiries only (Brooklyn is located in Sanford, NC). Brooklyn is an inside only dog (no outside only). Fenced in yard preferred. Adoption is based on a mandatory home visit and follow ups. All applicants must be 25 years or older. No cats or very small dogs. Her fosters request that you keep her name Brooklyn.
