Jack Russell Terrier - Medium - Senior - Female - Dog - Cricket
Description
Cricket was rescued from a local county shelter, one os seven who came to us over a three month period last fall. She was turned in as a stray. Our vet believes that she was most likely used as someone's brood dog, as when she was spayed her uterus had a high amount of adhesions, and there was a C-section scar as well. Cricket is approximately eight years old, based on the condition of her teeth. Like many dogs who spend most of their time in a cage or behind a small fence, Cricket had several teeth that were jaggedly broken off; these were ground down or removed at the same time that she was spayed. Also, due to the high number of times she was bred, she has a small inoperable hernia, but it doesn't seem to bother her. Cricket is very sweet and laid-back, unlike many JRTs! One of the first things we noticed about her was her willingness to please - and that big grin! When she is happy to see you (which is pretty much always!), Cricket will roll her lips back in the happiest grin you could ever imagine. Due to her advanced age, suspected past history, and skin allergies (she is doing better on a special food), the adoption fee may be waived for the right home. Cricket gets along well with her foster brothers and sisters; is used to eating, traveling, and spending the night in her crate; and is learning about housetraining.
